Rajiv Bindlish, M.D., frcs(c)

OPHTHALMOLOGY

Dr. Bindlish graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1994. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Dalhousie University from 1994-1999. He was the Chief Resident from 1997-1998. Dr. Bindlish then went on to complete a Fellowship in Cornea, Glaucoma and Anterior Segment Surgery with Drs. Garry Condon and Robert Arffa from 1999 – 2000 at Allegheny Ophthalmic and Orbit Specialists, Pittsburgh, Pa. He has is fellowship designation from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Bindlish is currently in private practice in Oakville, ON, since 2000. He operates out of Halton Health Care, the New Oakville Trafalgar site. The practice focus includes general Ophthalmology, Cataract and Glaucoma surgery. Dr. Bindlish is appointed as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, Division Ophthalmology, at McMaster University. He is Board member Canadian Glaucoma Research Society. Dr. Bindlish is proudly married, with 2 children.


Trent Ujimoto, O.D.

OPTOMETRY

Dr. Ujimoto received his Doctor of Optometry from the School of Optometry, University of Waterloo. He was honoured to receive the A.W. Cole Award for Clinical Excellence for his graduating class. He also trained in Pennsylvania at the Wills Eye Hospital, Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, and private ophthalmology clinics.

He completed a Residency in Low Vision, learning how to help improve the vision of partially-sighted patients of all ages. Dr. Ujimoto is certified in therapeutic ocular medications and Laser Refractive Surgery co-management. Dr. Ujimoto has completed the Clinical Curriculum of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation and has an interest in vision therapy.

He has worked at the Centre for Sight Enhancement, University of Waterloo and the Sight Enhancement Clinic, Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary. Dr. Ujimoto is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Optometry, University of Waterloo.

His volunteer experiences include Vision Health Examinations for the Lions Club in Jamaica, providing free eye health evaluations and eye glasses.


Gamal Seif, MsC.,M.D.,FRCS(C)

OPHTHALMOLOGY

Dr. Gamal Seif grew up in Oakville Ontario, and is an alumnus of Oakville Trafalgar High School. He completed his undergraduate degree in Health Science and Gerontology at the University of Waterloo, graduating with honours and numerous academic awards. He also completed his Masters in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto where he conducted research in stem cell therapy for spinal cord injuries.

Dr. Seif finished his medical degree and residency training in Ophthalmology at McMaster University. Most recently, he completed subspecialty training in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. Yasser Khan.

Dr. Seif is currently on staff at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. His current practice includes comprehensive ophthalmic care as well as diseases of the eyelids, eye socket and lacrimal system.


Dr. Mahmood Showail, M.D.,FRCS(C)

OPHTHALMOLOGY

Dr. Showail has completed 5 years of residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto. After he met the high standards of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Dr.Showail completed a two-year surgical fellowship in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery at Toronto Western Hospital. He also did a second fellowship in pediatric cornea and external eye diseases at the Hospital for Sick Children where he was awarded Dr.Robert Pashby award for excellence in clinical teaching.

Dr. Showail is passionate about improving patients’ quality of life by giving them the best possible vision. He is actively involved in research. His areas of research interest include corneal eye diseases and corneal transplantation. Dr. Showail is known to have an excellent rapport with his patients. He believes in providing the highest quality of care and recommends the safest and most clinically effective treatment options to his patients.

Dr. Showail operates out of Halton Health Care, the New Oakville Trafalgar site. His practice focus includes comprehensive Ophthalmology, cataract and corneal diseases in adult and children. He is an active member of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Cornea Society and the American and European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
